Freelance Business Modules

Short, self-contained units from the Freelancer Club’s Freelance Business School. Pick the one you need — branding, tax, pricing, finding clients — learn it, and check yourself with the quiz. Your tutor may point you to a module by its number.

How to use this. Dip into any module in any order. Each gives the key points, one thing to try, a short multiple-choice quiz with a score and — where it helps — the course material & tools for that topic (templates, apps and recommended reads from the Freelancer Club Course Material packs). The videos and platform tools (AI coaches, generators, community chat) are in your Freelancer Club membership — the link in each module opens the course area. Tick off each module in Google Classroom

Your progress is tracked in Google Classroom, so we can see what you have completed.

  1. Watch the module in your Freelancer Club membership and read the key points here.
  2. Try the quiz on this page to check your understanding.
  3. Open Google Classroom, go to Classwork, then the Freelance Business Modules topic, and open the matching assignment (for example, "Module 5: Tax").
  4. Click Turn in (or Mark as done) on that assignment. That ticks the module off.

Do this for each module as you finish it. If you cannot see the assignments, ask your Learning Success Manager.

Your Business Plan: why it matters

If you are choosing the freelance or self-employed pathway (as most learners on our Build Your Business Opportunity Lab are; please ask your Learning Success Manager if you are unsure), completing a Business Plan is essential for finishing the Bootcamp.

To meet Milestone 2 (Completion), all learners must evidence a clear progression route. You must submit either:

  1. A completed Freelance Business Plan (the TechNative template, or an equivalent you use or have created), or
  2. Evidence of being invited to a job interview (for those pursuing employment instead of freelancing).

For freelance learners, the Business Plan is your main piece of evidence. It shows you have a realistic plan for turning your new skills into paid work, as a freelancer, side hustler or small business.

Make your own copy of the Business Plan template ↗ This saves a copy to your Google Drive. It will also be posted in your Google Classroom.

To help you complete it, use the work from your weekly careers sessions, the modules on this page, and the Freelancer Club’s Freelance Business School. Module 4 walks you through the plan section by section.

Why this matters

Government-funded Skills Bootcamps require us to evidence your next steps. Without a completed plan (or interview evidence), you will be recorded as not having achieved the Bootcamp outcome. That means:

Either way, you can still use our 6 months of post-Bootcamp support.
